Collection of Fado Portraits in Viseu (2016-2022)
Fado in Viseu has history, has a present and certainly will have a prosperous future among the young people. Pinguinhas is part of this history and over the last few years it has been a stopping point for the most important names in Fado from the region and the country. Along this path we have recorded photographs and videos that we are recovering and preserving.
Recently, Pinguinhas has recovered photographs of dozens of Fado moments that happened during the last few years in the city of Viseu (and in particular in Pinguinhas' Fado Houses) and is publishing these photographs under the motto "Portraits of Fado in Viseu". These photographs document the most recent history of Fado and highlight the intensity of the interpretations, genuinely popular, of the great Fado singers and guitarists of our city, among other friends of the House and Fado, who have passed through Viseu over the past years.
Along this path, we also found photographs of great Fado singers and friends who are no longer with us today, but that these memories will help to eternalize. This is not the case of our dear Jorge Novo who gives us the happiness of his regular company.
We will continue to make history and therefore we invite all our customers and friends to share your photographs with us.
